What is natural rattan?

Natural rattan is a climbing palm that grows mainly in tropical regions. It is lightweight yet strong, flexible, and ideal for hand‑weaving furniture and home décor. Compared to wood, rattan is fast‑growing and more sustainable when responsibly harvested.

2

Is rattan furniture durable?

Yes. When properly processed and woven, natural rattan is highly durable for indoor use. The strength comes from skilled hand‑weaving, good frame construction, and correct finishing. With proper care, rattan products can last many years.

3

Can natural rattan be used outdoors?

Natural rattan is best suited for indoor or covered outdoor areas. Direct exposure to rain, strong sun, and high humidity may shorten its lifespan. For fully outdoor use, we recommend synthetic wicker or protected placements such as verandas and shaded terraces.

4

What is the difference between handmade and machine‑made rattan products?

Handmade rattan products are woven by skilled artisans, resulting in stronger joints, refined details, and unique character. Machine‑made items are more uniform but often lack durability and craftsmanship. Handmade pieces may show slight variations, which are a natural part of authentic craftsmanship.

5

Where are Classic Home products made?

All Classic Home products are made in Myanmar. Production is carried out through a combination of our Yangon factory, a village‑based workshop in Yegyi of Ayeyarwaddy Region, and a network of experienced cottage‑industry artisans. This allows us to maintain quality while supporting local livelihoods.

6

What materials do you use besides rattan?

In addition to natural rattan, we work with bamboo, natural fibers, and selected hardwoods such as rubberwood for frames. Materials are chosen based on structural needs, design intent, and durability requirements.

7

Do you offer customization or private label services?

Yes. We offer OEM and ODM services, including customization of size, weave, color, and finish. Private labeling and exclusive designs can be developed in close collaboration with our clients, subject to order quantity and production feasibility.

8

What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

We accept mixed items for one 20-foot container with a minimum order value of USD 8,000.

For orders below USD 8,000, an additional documentation fee of USD 400 will be charged. For orders USD 8,000 and above, documentation fees are fully absorbed by us.

9

How long is the production lead time?

Lead times vary depending on order size, product complexity, and seasonality. As handmade products require careful craftsmanship, production generally takes longer than mass‑produced items. Estimated timelines are confirmed once designs and quantities are finalized.

10

What certifications and ethical standards do you follow?

Classic Home is SMETA (2‑pillar) certified and is currently undergoing FHCM (Forest Harvest Collective Mark) training. We are committed to fair labor practices, responsible sourcing, and continuous improvement in sustainability and traceability.

11

What are your payment terms?

Our standard payment terms for export orders are 30% deposit upon order confirmation and 70% balance before shipment. These terms apply to most orders and help secure materials and production capacity.

12

What are your shipping terms (Incoterms)?

Our standard shipping term is FOB Yangon. This means goods are delivered on board the vessel at Yangon Port, and the buyer arranges ocean freight, insurance, and onward logistics. Other terms may be discussed upon request.

13

Which port do you ship from?

All export shipments are handled through Yangon Port, Myanmar. We coordinate packing, documentation, and export clearance to ensure smooth shipment.

14

Do you assist with export documentation?

Yes. We support our clients with standard export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, Fumigation Certificate, and Country of Origin Certificate. Additional documents can be arranged depending on destination country requirements.
