Crafted by Hand. Rooted in Myanmar. Designed for the World.

Classic Home is a Myanmar-based manufacturer and exporter of handmade rattan and natural material home décor and furniture. Founded over 20 years ago, we work closely with skilled artisans to create timeless, functional pieces that celebrate craftsmanship, culture, and sustainability.

What began as a small workshop has grown into a trusted production partner for international brands, designers, and retailers who value authenticity, ethical production, and thoughtful design.

Our Story

Classic Home was built on a simple belief: handmade products carry stories—of people, places, and traditions. Myanmar has a long heritage of rattan and bamboo weaving, passed down through generations. We exist to preserve this knowledge while adapting it for modern living and global markets.

By combining traditional hand-weaving techniques with contemporary forms, proportions, and finishes, we create products that feel both rooted and relevant.

Our Beginning

Classic Home Company Limited was founded by Kyaw Thu in 1997. Before this, he was exporting fish and prawns, until he found a way to express his passion for interior and decor through rattan accessories making.

The first and only to jump into entrepreneurship in his family, it was not an easy process; he had to start from scratch, do primary research, establish relationships all over Myanmar for supply of raw materials and production process.

He also served as the Chairman of Myanmar Rattan and Bamboo Entrepreneurs Association (MRBEA).

Our People

Our strength lies in our people.

  • Yangon Factory: Approximately 156 skilled workers

  • Yegyi Village Workshop: Around 51 local weavers and framers

  • Cottage Industry Network: Over 200 freelance artisans collaborating on current orders

This hybrid production model allows us to maintain quality, flexibility, and social impact—supporting rural livelihoods while meeting international standards.

What We Make

We specialize in handmade home décor and furniture using natural and responsibly sourced materials, including:

  • Rattan furniture and accessories

  • Bamboo and natural fiber décor

  • Lanterns and lighting

  • Tabletop collections (placemats, baskets, napkin rings)

  • Picture frames and wall décor

Every piece is hand-finished, with careful attention to weave, structure, and durability.

Design Philosophy

Our design approach balances:

  • Tradition – Respecting time-honored weaving techniques

  • Functionality – Products made for real everyday use

  • Timeless Aesthetics – Natural textures, earthy tones, and clean forms

  • Global Relevance – Designed for international interiors and lifestyles

We do not chase fast trends. Instead, we create pieces meant to age beautifully and last.

Responsibility & Certifications

Ethical and responsible production is central to how we work.

  • SMETA (2-Pillar) Certified

  • Undergoing FHCM (Forest Harvest Collective Mark) Training

  • Active collaboration with industry bodies and sustainability initiatives in Myanmar

We continuously work toward improved traceability, fair labor practices, and responsible material sourcing.
