In the heart of Yangon’s charming Yaw Min Gyi neighborhood, Ô’thentic Brasserie has carved out a reputation as a French café that feels both effortlessly chic and disarmingly comfortable. A favorite among locals, expats, and curious travelers, Ô’thentic is more than just a crêperie or wine bar — it’s a thoughtfully designed space where ambiance, taste, and community come together.
When Ô’thentic began redesigning and refreshing its interiors, the team wasn’t just looking for furniture. They were looking for character, for pieces that carried a story — pieces that felt warm, timeless, and real. That search led them to Classic Home.
A Shared Philosophy of Craftsmanship and Character
Ô’thentic's design philosophy is clear: simple, soulful, and honest. These values aligned beautifully with our own mission at Classic Home — to create furniture that reflects natural beauty, thoughtful design, and generations of skilled craftsmanship in Myanmar.
Unlike standard procurement, this was not a case of a client flipping through a catalog. The Ô’thentic team hand-selected each item from our collections. They wanted the space to feel personal and layered — and each chair, stool, and tabletop was chosen with care to complement the laid-back elegance of their bistro-style setting.
Blending French Sensibility with Local Artisanship
The final design is a beautiful fusion of two worlds:
Bistro tables paired with rattan armchairs, inviting diners to sit, relax, and stay a while
Handwoven stools and accessories offering natural texture that softens the room’s more structured elements
Neutral tones and soft lines that echo Ô’thentic’s branding — subtle, graceful, and unpretentious
This partnership also celebrates Myanmar’s rich heritage in weaving and woodworking. Each piece featured in Ô’thentic was made by artisans in our Yangon workshop, using sustainably harvested rattan and traditional hand-weaving techniques. For us, it’s always about creating furniture that feels human — not just designed, but deeply considered.
More Than a Café — An Atmosphere
Ô’thentic Brasserie is widely known not just for its menu — which features everything from Breton-style galettes and savory crêpes to charcuterie platters and French desserts — but for its welcoming, inclusive atmosphere.
Their weekly community nights — such as the lively "Friend’s TuesGay" social — show that this café isn’t just about dining; it’s about creating a space where people feel seen, safe, and connected. The environment is playful and warm, adorned with whimsical papier-mâché animal heads, eclectic artwork, and now, Classic Home’s curated furniture selections.
The result is a space that feels casual yet considered, stylish yet sincere — where a good meal and good conversation feel equally at home.
The Collaboration in Practice
From our perspective at Classic Home, this project stands out not only for its visibility, but for the spirit behind it. It’s always rewarding to work with partners who see furniture not as decoration, but as experience — who understand how a well-made chair or a hand-woven stool can quietly shape how someone feels in a space.
This wasn’t about trends or flashy centerpieces. It was about harmony, about texture, about how furniture can subtly elevate the rhythm of a place like Ô’thentic — a rhythm built on laughter, wine, shared meals, and everyday moments.
See It for Yourself
We invite you to experience this collaboration in person. Ô’thentic Brasserie is located at 45 Yaw Min Gyi Street, just a short walk from Yangon’s Bogyoke Market. Open daily from morning until late evening, it’s a perfect place for brunch with friends, a solo coffee break, or dinner over wine in good company.
And next time you’re there, we invite you to take a closer look — at the woven chairs, the relaxed seating, and the warm wood tones. Behind each piece is a story of local craftsmanship, and we’re honored that Ô’thentic chose to make that story part of their own.
