Story of the Pagoda Lamp (Anchor Lamp)

The Pagoda Lamp was originally created for Kalinko UK, one of our long-time partners. The initial plan was to weave it using the traditional Burmese Tight Weave, but because of the lamp’s structure—and the way the shade needs to lock securely onto its pagoda-shaped base—we had to rethink the construction.
In the end, we paired a metal frame with small-diameter rattan, stripped with minimal peel. This allowed us to preserve strength while keeping the silhouette elegant. What makes this weave truly special is what you discover inside: as the artisan finishes the piece, the remaining rattan peel forms a natural web-like pattern, creating hidden beauty within the structure. It’s one of those designs that is stunning both inside and out.
My favourite finish is the dark brown stain. It sharpens the contours of the pagoda shape, giving it depth and presence. And when you top it with a soft off-white cotton lampshade, the Pagoda Lamp becomes the perfect functional décor piece—calming, warm, and unmistakably handcrafted.
We’ve also introduced a Mini Anchor version of the lamp, designed especially for smaller rooms, bedside tables, and cozy corners. It carries the same architectural pagoda silhouette and intricate web-like inner weave, just in a more compact scale. Despite its size, it still holds the same presence and craftsmanship—making it a perfect choice for spaces that need warmth without taking up too much room.
