Hello there, my name is Thet, a rattan and bamboo homeware producer from Myanmar. When we develop a new design at Classic Home, it’s never just me alone sketching something on paper and handing it over. Every product you see in our collection is the result of a team effort, starting from the first conversation I have with our customers.
Usually, a client will come to me with an idea—sometimes it’s a rough sketch, sometimes just an inspiration picture, and sometimes it’s a need for a particular market. My role is to listen carefully, understand what they are looking for, and then bring it to our makers to start turning that idea into something real.
The first step is always the framer. Depending on the product, it might be a rattan framer, a metal framer, or an iron framer. They create the skeleton of the piece, making sure the size, proportion, and structure are strong enough to last but also match the design. Without the right frame, the weaving won’t look right.
Once the frame is ready, I bring it to our master weavers. This is where experience really matters. They test different weaves, adjust the tension, and suggest the best technique for the design. Sometimes what looks good on paper doesn’t work in real weaving, and our master weavers are the ones who find the solution.
After weaving, the piece goes to our paint expert. This step is just as important as the weaving itself because the finishing determines the final look. Whether it’s a natural tone, a solid color, or a special wash effect, our paint team makes sure the surface is smooth, even, and ready for export standards.
Finally, before the product ever leaves our factory, our QC (quality control) team checks everything. They look at details like weaving consistency, paint finish, frame stability, and measurements. Their job is to make sure the piece that arrives at our client’s warehouse is exactly what we promised.
So when you see a lantern, a picture frame, or a piece of furniture from Classic Home, you’re really seeing the hands and effort of many people. From the framer who builds the base, to the weaver who brings it to life, to the paint expert who gives it character, and the QC team who ensures quality—every step matters.
That’s what I love about what we do. Every new design is a team story, and we’re proud to share it with the world.
