The Avita Lamp reflects our belief that beauty doesn’t need to be complicated. Made with bamboo and rattan, its design is light, open, and balanced — allowing the natural materials to speak for themselves.

The Story of the Avita Lamp
When I began designing the Avita Lamp, I wanted to create something that felt honest — something that shows the quiet beauty of bamboo and rattan without adding too much to it.
The idea came one afternoon while visiting a weaving village. I was looking at stacks of old bamboo baskets drying in the sun. Their forms were so simple — straight lines, open spaces, light passing through. There was a calmness in that repetition, and I wanted to capture it.
Avita started from that image. We used bamboo for the top shade as the light holder — hand-cut and sanded until each piece was smooth — and rattan for the frame, bent carefully by hand to form its arched legs. It’s a straightforward design: a tall, slender cylinder that glows softly when lit. The light seeps through the bamboo lines, casting gentle shadows that move slightly as you walk past.
What I love most about this lamp is its simplicity. There are no decorative details, no unnecessary parts — just bamboo, rattan, and light. It shows off the properties of each material. Every curve and joint is done by hand, which means no two pieces are exactly the same. Some might have darker bamboo, others a bit more bend in the rattan — but that’s what makes them alive.
Designing Avita reminded me that simplicity is never easy. It takes restraint to stop at the right point — to let the materials speak instead of trying to control them too much.
To me, Avita is not just a lamp. It’s a reflection of how we work at Classic Home — quietly, carefully, and always connected to the hands that make each piece possible.
